this was taken on new years morning.

i had fallen asleep early (200 or 300 am) at mizuyo's house and was awoken to a bright bright sky around 700 am.

a weather that you could never believe was new years in new york.

i miss seeing the sunrise , in a way.

it's nostalgic since i used to see it everyday.

now a days, i am afraid of the sun rising on a work day..

i scurry and force myself to sleep once i feel the dark sky turning any hint of blue..

how long has it been since i'd seen a sunrise like this?

the only thing that bothered me about this drawing..is that her face is extremely streaky.

sometimes when i'm just drawing, i have no patience..

so i don't even test out my markers,

and that's how i get streaky faces.

other than that, i don't mind this girl.

but in the end,

if you are patient..

i don't want to say a single thing.

some days i feel sick because of the extremeness in vanity and superficial.

but then i think about the people who love most

and spend time with most

and i think about our moments that are not just about fashion (god i hope its not)

and i wonder why i feel so comfortable with them.

of course it's more than just our common interests..

but it is almost like the way we wear our clothes just speak to each other

and we don't even need to mention anything,

but we accept each other in that way.

right now, i am feeling a bit down.

why?

well,

i think my cat, Hedi, is mad at me.

do you remember the scene in Kiki's Delivery Service, when Kiki's cat Jiji can't speak to her anymore and starts to only understand cat? they have a brief separation..for unknown reason at the time.

i am Kiki right now.

hedi seems so distant.
i can't describe it, it's just different.
i can't figure out why he seems so empty
and angry

it almost feels like when you live with a boyfriend/lover,
and one night, it just feels different laying next to him at night.

so i just came back from paris, two days ago

i am completely dehydrated

but i am so happy to be with hedi.

and so happy with my bed.

it's before midnight and i think i can fall asleep.

jetlag might cure my insomnia.

on the plane i watched a few movies.

of course , because i cannot sleep on the plane.

and on the way there i had seen sourcecode and the beaver back to back.

it freaked me out because they both had special taglines in the film in which they kept repeating.

"everything is going to be all right"

tell me everything is going to be all right.

and in one movie it was a happy ending.

everything was all right in the end.

the other one kept saying

"everything is going to be all right"

"but sometimes things are not"

and sometimes will never could be all right.

sometimes it seems...that

superficial happiness could be happier than real life forced happiness.

lovely friends and amazing artist/designer/talent/extraordinary peoples, graham and miguel of 1-100 at their book launch, "HIC ET NUNC". the venue of the night was at a mysterious place in paris. literally did not know where i was. the big doors in paris are always so mysterious. they are huge and leads you into a courtyard, which then leads you to the entrance of the house.

the place seemed like an old attic of some sort, but later i found out that the Cartonnerie was where David Lynch shot Christian Louboutin's short film.

a friend/colleague from london was visiting this weekend

..and went to the empire state building.

it's so rare for new yorkers to go to such places.
